Will moving from Magento to Shopify hurt our SEO?
Not if the migration is done properly. SEO preservation is one of the highest-priority workstreams. We map every Magento URL to its Shopify destination, set 301 redirects, preserve canonicals, retain metadata, and monitor rankings post-launch. Most stores see a brief settling period of 2–4 weeks before traffic stabilises at the same level or higher.
What happens to our custom Magento modules on Shopify?
Each module is audited and one of three things happens: it gets rebuilt as a Shopify Function, App Proxy integration, or private app; it's replaced by native Shopify functionality or a vetted public app; or it's retired because the underlying need disappears. The audit gives you a clear rebuild/replace/retire decision for every customisation before code is written.
Can Shopify Plus handle our B2B operations?
For most mid-market B2B operations, yes. Shopify Plus B2B supports company hierarchies, customer-specific catalogues, custom price lists, payment terms, draft orders, and quote workflows. Very deep B2B with complex tier pricing, approval chains, or shared shopping carts may still favour Adobe Commerce — that's a decision we help you make in discovery, not after build starts.
Should we move to Shopify or Shopify Plus?
It depends on revenue, B2B needs, checkout customisation, and multi-store requirements. Plus unlocks Checkout Extensibility, the B2B API, multi-store, Shopify Flow at scale, and customer account extensions — features standard Shopify cannot deliver. Most merchants migrating from Adobe Commerce land on Plus; smaller Magento Open Source stores often fit standard Shopify.
How long does a Magento to Shopify migration take?
Typical mid-market migrations run 3–5 months. A simple catalogue with few customisations and standard integrations can be done in 6–10 weeks. Stores with deep B2B logic, ERP integrations, hundreds of custom modules, or large historical data sets often take 5–9 months. We give a calibrated estimate after a discovery audit.
What about our ERP and shipping integrations?
Every integration is remapped onto Shopify. ERP (SAP, NetSuite, MS Dynamics, custom), CRM, payment gateways, shipping/3PL, PIM, and custom APIs are rebuilt against Shopify's Admin GraphQL, webhooks, and App Proxy. Each integration is tested in a staging environment before go-live and monitored after launch.
Do we keep our order and customer history?
Yes. Full historical data is migrated — products, categories, orders, customers, addresses, customer groups, store credit, gift cards, reviews, and CMS content. We validate counts and sample records after each transfer pass so nothing slips through silently.
