eCommerce Replatforming & Migration Services

End-to-end migrations across Magento, Adobe Commerce, and Shopify — starting with a migration discovery audit, ending with a clean cutover that preserves data, customers, integrations, and SEO rankings.

Replatforming is one of the highest-stakes projects an eCommerce business can run. Every order, customer, SEO ranking, payment flow, and integration is on the line — and the work is unforgiving. Get one detail wrong and the consequences show up in revenue, support tickets, or search rankings.

Start with a migration discovery audit to understand your platform risks, data complexity, SEO exposure, integration dependencies, and realistic cutover plan before committing to a rebuild. From there we run the migration end-to-end: Magento 1 → Adobe Commerce, Adobe Commerce → Shopify Plus, Shopify → Adobe Commerce, or from custom legacy stacks onto whichever modern platform fits best. Over a decade of replatforming experience means we've seen the failure modes — and we know how to protect what matters.

The migrations we handle.

Each direction has its own gotchas. We've shipped them all.

Magento 1 → Adobe Commerce

The classic. Years of customizations, fragile extensions, a frontend that doesn't survive the move, and an SEO footprint you can't afford to lose. Our flagship migration path — and still in active demand from stores that need a safe, expert hand.

Adobe Commerce → Shopify Plus

Increasingly common for mid-market merchants who want to reduce infrastructure burden and accelerate shipping. We rebuild custom logic as Shopify Functions, App Proxy integrations, and private apps so you don't lose what made the Adobe Commerce store work.

Shopify → Adobe Commerce

The reverse direction — usually for B2B operations that have outgrown Shopify's product-rules and customer-group capabilities. We migrate catalogue, customer hierarchies, and order history while preserving the parts of the storefront that already convert well.

Custom / Legacy → Modern Stack

Custom-built or end-of-life platforms onto Adobe Commerce, Shopify, or a headless stack. The hardest projects: undocumented business logic, bespoke data structures, and integrations no one fully remembers. We start with deep discovery before committing to a path.

The things you can't afford to lose.

Orders & Customer History

Full order history, customer accounts, addresses, customer groups, store credit, gift cards. Sample-validated after every transfer pass so nothing slips through.

SEO Rankings & Traffic

URL mapping, 301 redirects, canonicals, schema, metadata, sitemap continuity. Pre-launch SEO audit, post-launch monitoring, and recovery plan if anything regresses.

Integrations

ERP, CRM, payment, shipping, 3PL, PIM, and custom APIs — every integration mapped, rebuilt or remapped on the new platform, and tested in staging before go-live.

Custom Business Logic

The pricing rules, workflows, and extensions you've spent years building. Each one audited, then rebuilt, replaced with platform features, or retired — never silently lost.

Uptime

Zero-downtime cutover where feasible: parallel-running environments, final delta sync, DNS swap during low-traffic window. Brief planned maintenance windows when that's the safer call.

Payment Flows

Payment gateway re-integration with full transaction testing — including refunds, partial refunds, captures, and recurring billing — before any real customer touches the new platform.

From discovery to post-launch.

01

Discovery & Audit

Full inventory of your existing platform — extensions, data structures, integrations, SEO assets, business logic. You leave with a clear picture of scope, risks, and timeline before any commitment.

02

Architecture & Plan

Target architecture mapped, extensions categorized rebuild/replace/retire, URL mapping drafted, integration plan documented, cutover strategy chosen. Reviewed and signed off with you before build begins.

03

Build & Migrate

Parallel build on the target platform: theme, custom logic, integrations, data import. Multiple data-migration passes run against staging to catch issues early.

04

Test & Validate

Functional, integration, payment, and SEO testing on the staging environment. Sample-based data validation. Final dry-run cutover on a clone to time the production switch precisely.

05

Cutover

Final delta sync of recent orders and customer changes, DNS swap, real-time monitoring during the switchover. We stay on standby through the first business day.

06

Post-Launch

SEO ranking monitoring, integration health checks, performance tuning, and rapid response to any post-launch issues. Smooth handoff to your team or an ongoing support relationship.

Replatforming questions, answered.

How long does an eCommerce replatforming project take?

Typical mid-market replatformings run 3–6 months end-to-end. Smaller stores with clean data and few integrations can finish in 6–10 weeks; large enterprise migrations with custom extensions, B2B logic, and ERP integrations often take 6–12 months. We give a calibrated estimate after a discovery audit.

Can you migrate without losing SEO rankings?

Yes. SEO preservation is one of the highest-priority workstreams in every migration we run. We map every old URL to its new destination, set 301 redirects, preserve canonicals, retain metadata and schema, and monitor rankings post-launch to catch any regressions early.

What about custom Magento 1 extensions?

We audit every extension before migration. Some have direct Adobe Commerce equivalents we can swap in. Others need to be rebuilt as new modules on the target platform. A small number become unnecessary once core platform features cover the same need. The audit gives you a clear rebuild/replace/retire decision for each one.

Do you migrate order and customer history?

Yes. Full data migration includes products, categories, orders, customers, addresses, customer groups, store credit, gift cards, reviews, and CMS content. We validate counts and sample data after each transfer pass to ensure nothing is lost.

Can you do a zero-downtime cutover?

Yes for most stores. We run the new platform in parallel, perform a final delta sync of recent orders and customer changes, and switch DNS during a low-traffic window. For smaller stores a brief maintenance window is sometimes simpler and lower-risk.

What ERP and integration work is included?

All third-party integrations are remapped — ERP (SAP, NetSuite, MS Dynamics, custom), CRM, payment gateways, shipping/3PL, PIM, and any custom APIs. We test each integration in a staging environment before go-live. See our full eCommerce integration services.

What does a discovery audit cost?

The initial 30-minute consultation is free. A full discovery audit (typically 1–3 weeks) is a fixed-fee engagement that you can use as the foundation for the rebuild plan — whether you proceed with us or not.
