For privacy-related questions, contact us at privacy@magentoinfo.com.
2. Personal information we collect
We collect personal information only when you provide it directly or when it is automatically generated by your visit. Specifically:
2.1 Information you provide
- Contact form submissions — name, email address, company name, phone number (optional), and the contents of your message.
- Email correspondence — when you email us at any of our addresses, we retain those messages for service delivery and reference.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Analytics data via Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Tag Manager — pages viewed, time on page, approximate location (city level), device type, browser, referring URL.
- Server logs — IP address, request timestamps, requested URLs, HTTP status codes. Standard for any web server. Retained for up to 90 days for security and debugging.
- Cookies — see section 6.
3. How we use your information
- To respond to your inquiry or service request.
- To provide the services you have engaged us for, and to communicate about ongoing work.
- To improve the website (analytics tells us which content is useful).
- To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for advertising on third-party platforms. We do not share it with anyone except the processors listed below.
4. Third-party processors
The following service providers process personal information on our behalf:
- Google Analytics 4 / Google Tag Manager (Google LLC, USA) — website analytics. Privacy policy.
- Google Search Console (Google LLC, USA) — search performance data, no visitor PII.
- Email and hosting infrastructure — used to receive and respond to your messages.
- Buffer (Buffer, Inc., USA) — used by us to schedule social-media posts on our own LinkedIn page. Buffer does not receive visitor data from this website.
5. Legal basis for processing
Where the GDPR applies (e.g., visitors in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland), we rely on:
- Consent — for non-essential cookies and analytics, where required.
- Legitimate interests — for security logs, fraud prevention, and basic site analytics.
- Contract — to deliver the services you have engaged us for.
- Legal obligation — where law requires retention (tax, contractual records).
Where the Canadian Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) applies, we collect and use personal information only for purposes a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances, with knowledge and consent.
6. Cookies
This website uses two categories of cookies:
- Essential — required for the site to function (no consent needed).
- Analytics — Google Analytics 4 sets
_gaand related cookies to measure usage. These are anonymised and used in aggregate. You can opt out via the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by configuring your browser to block cookies.
We do not currently use advertising or tracking cookies. We do not use Facebook Pixel or similar advertising trackers.
7. How long we keep your information
- Contact form submissions and email: retained as long as the relationship is active and for a reasonable period afterward (typically up to 7 years for accounting compliance), then deleted.
- Server logs: up to 90 days.
- Analytics data: retained per Google Analytics defaults (currently 14 months, adjustable).
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have some or all of the following rights over your personal information:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate information.
- Deletion — ask us to delete your personal information (subject to legal retention obligations).
- Restriction or objection — restrict processing, or object to certain uses (such as analytics).
- Withdrawal of consent — where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
- Complaint — file a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority (Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada under PIPEDA; your country's data protection authority under GDPR).
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@magentoinfo.com. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Children's privacy
This website is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect personal information from unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction — encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls on our systems, and limited retention periods. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affecting your data occurs, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
11. International transfers
Some of our processors (notably Google) are located in the United States. When personal information is transferred there, it is protected by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and the processors' own privacy commitments.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated through this page; in some cases, we may notify you directly.
